THE LOCAL FINALS OF WBCInno COMPETITION FOR THE BEST STUDENTS’ BUSINESS IDEA WAS HELD AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA

ON 14 JULY 2015, THE LOCAL FINALS OF WBCInno COMPETITION FOR THE BEST STUDENTS’ BUSINESS IDEA WAS HELD AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA AND THE WINNERS WERE CHOSEN:

  • SCOOL“ from the Faculty of economics of the University of Sarajevo
    and
  • AHUDUDU“ from the Faculty of economics of the University „Džemal Bijedić“ in Mostar

Within the WBCInno project, for the purpose of connecting the universites and the business environment and for fostering the entrepreneurial spirit in our students, the Competition for the best students’ business idea was organized during July 2015 on all project partner universities in the Western Balkans.

On Tuesday, 14 July 2015, the Local finals of WBCInno Competition was held on our University. Even though it was denoted as local one, the competition easily outgrew this determinant and gathered teams not only from the University of Zenica but also from the universities of Sarajevo, East Sarajevo and Mostar.

The business plans and 7-minute pitch presentations were assessed by the Selection Committee, where were engaged these persons: Senior Assist. Dženan Kulović, MSc, Chairperson (Chair of management and organisation, Faculty of economics of UNZE); Mirza Sikirić, member, (General affairs and local economy development, ZEDA – Zenica Economic Development Agency); Assist. Prof. Dr Ibrahim Plančić, member, (Chair of production technologies, Faculty of mechanical engineering of UNZE); Assist. Prof. Dr Nusret Imamović, member, (Chair of environmental engineering, Faculty of mechanical engineering of UNZE); and Mustafa Hadžalić, MSc, member, (Institute for mechanical engineering, Metallurgy Institute "Kemal Kapetanović" of UNZE).

According to the Committee, the best teams were:

  • Scool – its members are Anela Šemić, Mirzet Andelija, Dario Frimel and Anes Golubić from the Faculty of economics of the University of Sarajevo. (Business idea: establishing e-learning platform for elementary school students from Bosnia and Herzegovina) and
  • AHUDUDU – its members are Irma Dedić, Emina Džafić, Selma Polić and Maida Dlakić from the Faculty of economics of the University "Džemal Bijedić" in Mostar. (Business idea: production, freezing and reselling the raspberries).

Given the information from the coordinator of WBCInno project, the winners from all partner universities will have the opportunity to go to training in Podgorica during July or August 2015. After that, they will visit one of the European project partner universities, and in September 2015 will go to the Regional competition in Belgrade, where will also be present the representatives from the business incubators, because they would like to offer a place/places in incubators to really good ideas and, in that way, enable them to start a real business life.
